Highest single day spike of 93 Covid cases push Chhattisgarh's tally to 773

Chhattisgarh reported highest single day spike of 93 Covid patient on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday late night 56 patients were reported, increasing the tally to 773 with active patient to 565 in Chhattisgarh.

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh reported highest single day spike of 93 Covid patient on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday late night 56 patients were reported, increasing the tally to 773 with active patient to 565 in Chhattisgarh.
Since, the migrants have started entering the state in past one month, this is for the first time that as many as 149 Covid patients were reported across the state in last 24 hours.

Of these 93 fresh cases, 19 each from Jashpur and Mahasamund, 17 from Bilaspur, nine from Janjgir Champa, six each from Raipur and Rajnandgaon, five from Raigarh, four from Kabirdham, three each from Gariyabandh and Baloda Bazar and two from Surajpur.
However, 17 Covid patients were discharged from different Covid dedicated hospitals on Thursday.
Among the fresh Covid cases, one patient from Mungeli is a health worker, said health officials.
A successful maternal delivery of a Covid positive pregnant woman took place at Raigarh medical college and hospital. The health condition of the new born and mother is reported to be stable.
AIIMS-Raipur handed over the new born baby to the mother on Thursday, a day after she was tested Covid negative. AIIMS-Raipur performed successful maternal delivery of a 23-year-old Covid positive patient on Monday and kept the baby separated till her mother’s Covid sample reported negative. Talking to TOI, AIIMS spokesperson, SS Sharma said, “The woman hails from Mungeli was admitted in isolation ward since past one week. The test of her child is awaited and the health of baby-mother is stable.”
