Raipur: 3 including a BMC corporator held for thrashing man

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh police on Tuesday, arrested three persons including a ward corporator of Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC), for thrashing a 39-year-old man in Saddu locality of Raipur. Police have arrested the accused trio and lodged a case under relevant sections of the IPC. Further investigation is underway.
According to Raipur police, three persons including a corporator from Bhilai, barged into the house of a man, identified as Gunjan Kumar (39), a resident of Saddu Housing Board Colony and thrashed him.

The arrested were identified as Corporator Piyush Mishra (40), Vikas and Ram Nag, all hailing from Bhilai.
On victim's complaint, police have registered an offence against the accused trio under Sections 294, 323, 327, 34, 452 and 506 of THE Indian Penal Code (IPC) and probe into the matter is underway.
Police have also seized a four-wheeler, in which the trio had come to Raipur from Bhilai.
Police said, citing the victim's complaint, that the accused trio equipped with sticks and sharp-edged weapon forcefully entered the house of victim.
The accused trio abused as well as thrashed the victim and demanded money from him as a fine for talking to a girl.
When neighbour rushed to help the victim, the trio attempted to flee the spot, but somehow, they were intercepted and handed over to police.
