RAIPUR: Scorching sun and hot winds turned the state capital into an oven on Thursday, with temperature touching 45 degrees for the first time this summer - making Raipur the hottest district in the state. The maximum temperature in Raipur on Wednesday was 44.3 degree Celsius.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning in the state for the next 48 hours.
Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur districts in Chhattisgarh will remain in the grip of severe heatwave conditions, said the weather office.
