RAIPUR: Pee in public in in the state capital and pay fine. Raipur Municipal Corporation will impose fine of Rs 50 on those found urinating at public places.
Though the law has been in force for the past four month, residents are unaware about it.
Repeat offenders would be fined Rs 100 while those violating the rules third time will be fined Rs 500 on repetition.
The civic body is trying to stop the practice of public urination as it aims to climb the Swachh ladder, in the new Swachh survey that would begin soon.

Swachch Bharat Mission has extended its directives for cities and towns aiming to include elimination of public urination to get an ODF tag.
RMC commissioner Nilesh Kshirsagar said, “Essentially, this is part of a much-needed social change and we are actively involving civil societies for the same. Imposing a fine is only the last resort, but change is needed from within.”
Speaking to TOI, nodal officer Swachh Bharat Mission, Harendra Kumar Sahu, said, “A resolution was adopted in mayor-in-council meeting wherein it was decided that to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat in all spirit, it should be extended.”
