Raipur: Now, ambulance to offer ICU-like aid

RAIPUR: To provide instant medical support to the patient at site, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur has equipped ambulance with ICU like advance facilities.
The ambulance has been modified as per the National Ambulance Code. The revamped version will consist of basic life support system like a transport ventilator and digital oxygen delivery system along with GPS to track the vehicle movement.It will be smaller ICU set-up on wheels with auto loading structure, wheelchair, suction pump and syringe pump as well.
Also, this time the ambulance vehicles would be more patient friendly and will consist of spine board and scoop stature to help medical staff in handling and trasportaion of patients.
Renovated ambulances can be used in emergency conditions where a patient needs urgent medical support. said AIIMS-R Director Prof (Dr) Nitin M Nagarkar.
