RAIPUR: In a brutal double murder in the Chhattisgarh capital, two women were stabbed multiple times with a knife and attacked with a frying pan by two friends, at their rented house in Tikrapara region of Raipur on Tuesday noon. One of the women is a nursing student and the other one is her sister who had come from her native Raigarh district to meet her.
Based on CCTV footages, police have detained two persons who were seen rushing out of the house at the same time when the incident took place and another footage shows the duo walking a lane in which one man was talking on the mobile phone.
The neighbours said they had heard the four shouting at each other and having a heated argument and within minutes, they saw the men rushing out. When the neighbours peeped in, they were shocked to see the two women lying in a pool of blood.
They were stabbed multiple times all over the body and the accused had used the heavy iron pan to hit them on women's head that caused their deaths. Though the victims were rushed to a hospital, they were declared brought dead.
According to Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Arif Sheikh, Manisha Sidar, 20, was a student of the nursing college and was residing at a rented house in Tikrapara area. Her cousin Manjulata had come to visit her on Monday from Raigarh and stayed back till Tuesday.
"From the spot of crime, it shows that the incident took place when two men and the women were having a meal at the house and there seems to be some dispute erupted among them. The reason of argument isn't clear though, police have picked the two alleged accused based on suspicion and they were being questioned. One of the accused is identified as Saif Khan, 21," SSP Sheikh said.
The SSP added that it was a clear case of love-affair, break-up and hooking up with another guy because Manisha was in a relationship with Saif and there were several pictures found from the spot. They worked as evidence too as the Manisha's pictures with Saif were torn apart. Later, she apparently got involved with another boy.

Police are trying to investigate other angles to the crime too and said that the case would be solved soon.
