RAIPUR: Three youths were killed and one severely injured in Naya Raipur when their speeding car went off the road and fell in the roadside ditch on Tuesday night. All the four were workers in a hotel and police said they lost control over steering leading to accident.
The youths had gone for a long drive after day long work at the hotel.
Police said that the incident took place late on Tuesday night near Sendh waterbody when the car apparently took a turn and the vehicle went off road as there was no road on that direction.
It seems to be wrong judgement of turn where tha road actually ended which led to accident and if at all the car would not be speeding, the accident could have been averted.
The car however, went off road after skidding and fell with such impact that three of them were dead on the spot and the fourth person was severely injured.
The passerby spotted the car and informed police when the injured was rushed to hospital and deceased were retrieved out of the car.
Though it wasn’t clear yet if the youths were in inebriated condition but police suspect so as there were bottles of alcohol recovered from the car and spot of accident.
The deceased were identified as Ravi Kumar Tiwari (22), a native of Jharkhand, Omer Alam (25), hailing from Kolkata, and Manal Kosariya (24), a resident of Mowa town in Raipur and injured Saurabh.
Police are waiting for Saurabh to get better to record his statement and would know exact reason of the accident.
