Weekend lockdown in Chhattisgarh this month

Chhattisgarh government has decided to enforce lockdown on all Saturdays and Sundays during this month across the state as a part of the effort to reduce movement of people to fight spread of coronavirus.

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh government has decided to enforce lockdown on all Saturdays and Sundays during this month across the state as a part of the effort to reduce movement of people to fight spread of coronavirus.
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday agreed to the suggestion of state home minister Tamradhwaj Sahu to implement lockdown across the state on all weekends of May month to prevent spread of Covid-19 infection.
Besides, chief minister has asked to continue all the essential services including vegetables, milk, medicine and other essential stuffs during the weekends lockdown.
Meanwhile, as per the decision of the Union government the lockdown imposed to curb spread of coronavirus infection across the country has been extended in Chhattisgarh till May 17. However, restrictions have been eased in most parts of the state except the containment zones. Besides, sale and home delivery of liquor has also been started in green zones across the state. Recently, six places have been declared as containment zones in Saraswati Nagar police station area in Raipur after a 24-yearold youth was tested corona positive in Amanaka. Also, new corona positive cases have been found in Durg and Kawardha districts after the extension of lockdown period
