Gujarat: Blackmailed for group sex, 20-year-old woman immolates self

RAJKOT: A 20-year-old woman died after setting herself ablaze on Thursday after three youths blackmailed her, asking her to have group sex with them in Pedak Society of Wankaner in Morbi district. Two persons including a woman were arrested in this connection on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Sonal Vora, set herself ablaze on Thursday morning and succumbed to burns the same evening.
Police said Vora was being allegedly blackmailed by the accused, identified as Jitendra Makwana, Rahul Vora, Akhil Parmar and Gauri Ubhadia.
“In the suicide note left by Sonal, she alleged that Makwana had shot a video of her kissing, on basis of which he and the other co-accused started blackmailing her, asking her to have group sex with them. Ubhadia had allegedly helped the accused in the crime,” said an official from Wankaner city police station.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested Rahul and Ubhadia and launched a manhunt for the other accused.
Sonal was a class 12 student of Wankaner Girls’ School. Her father works as a mason, while her mother works as a labourer in a factory. Sonal took the extreme step while her parents were away at work.
