A heartfelt welcome for XISS freshers

The marketing students of the 2018-20 batch of Xavier Institute of Social Services (XISS) received a heart-warming freshers’ party from their immediate seniors and professors from various departments in their college auditorium. The event was coordinated by the second-year students of the post-graduate diploma programme of the institute.
Various cultural programmes, which included both musical and dance performances by the students from the department of marketing, enthralled the audience.“My seniors have managed to put up a really beautiful show and it feels great to be here as a student of such a coveted institution. I consider myself extremely lucky to be here,” said Shantam Gulati, an excited first-year student of the college.
The four-hour-long show had some breathtaking moments and the enthusiasm among the students and the professors was unmatched. Students of various departments as well as the non-teaching staff of the institute showcased their talents.
There were various events organised by the senior students including a welcome dance. This was followed by a solo dance performance by Anubhuti, a second-year marketing student.
A dance duet was performed by senior students Abhishek Verma and Avinash Steve, which won many hearts on the occasion. The duo grooved to popular Bollywood dance numbers. Zeeshan Mir also won over the audience with his enthralling performance of several popular Sufi songs.
A four-round talent hunt was organised to determine the winners of the Mr and Miss Fresher. Mikhil Pranay Singh was honoured with the tittle of Mr Fresher while Tanya Agarwal was selected as Miss Fresher of the marketing department for the year 2018.
