RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Monday gave strict instructions to private agencies working on electrification of rural areas to speed up the work and ensure that every rural household is electrified by December 2018.
In a review meeting of agencies working for rural electrification, the CM said that the bank guarantee of those companies which do not work will be seized and legal action will be taken against the officials.

"The agencies are being paid by the government according to the work progress. Make strategies to attain the goal. Electrification will bring a change in the lives of poor. Positive change can be seen at those houses where electricity has reached," Das said.
Three agencies, IL&FS, Ashoka Buildcon and Pace Power were strictly directed to increase their pace of work. CM said that if changes are not visible soon these companies will be debarred, their bank guarantee would be seized and legal action would be taken against them.
Das said that there has been an improvement in the working of these agencies since the meeting held in previous month. The next review meeting has been set for August 9.
