Heatwave claims two lives in Jamshedpur

Steel city and its adjoining areas are reeling under severe heatwave conditions. Sources said in the last two days two people have died in the city, where the temperature is recorded to be 42.6 degree celsius.

JAMSHEDPUR: Steel city and its adjoining areas are reeling under severe heatwave conditions. Sources said in the last two days two people have died in the city, where the temperature is recorded to be 42.6 degree celsius.
Notably, earlier three people have died in this heatwave condition.
Sources said a man aged around 30 years was spotted in an unconscious condition near Dathkidi in the city.
He was shifted to state-run MGMMCH, where he later died.
Another person aged around 56 years was found in similar unconscious state near Sonari aerodrome. He was shifted to MGMMCH, but was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
Sources said as many as 18 people have been admitted to various hospitals in the East Singhbhum district after falling ill due to the ongoing heat wave condition.
According to the sources, hot winds commonly called loo is blowing in the region which is making things worse. People are unable to step out of their houses after 10am.
