RANCHI: The lockdown and sealing of few localities falling under Hindpiri containment zone were eased by the district administration late on Wednesday night based on the findings of a survey conducted by the health department officials. According to officials, more areas under the containment zone will be opened in the coming days after another round of health survey.

The areas which that have been released from the containment zone are Noor Nagar, Nizam Nagar, Purani Ranchi, Mujahid Nagar, Kohinoor Gali, Lake Road and parts of Khet Muhhalla.
The shrinking of Hindpiri containment zone came after the number of positive cases from the area decreased drastically over the last fortnight.
Talking to TOI, Ranchi SDO Lokesh Mishra said, “We had selected only those localities where no positive cases of Covid-19 were detected in the last 28 days. After listing the areas, we had conducted a health survey of over 3,000 households falling under the identified area, following which, the main containment map was redefined and relaxations were provided.”
On being asked about the relaxations to the residents of the area who were taken out of the containment zone, Mishra said, “Relaxations listed as per the May 18 letter of the Union ministry of home affairs, including opening of essential shops, will be applicable. However, residents are advised to maintain social distancing and to use masks at all times while venturing out. We have also made it clear to all the residents that no religious places will be opened and congregations at any such place will invite legal actions.”
Talking to TOI, Ranchi DDC Ananya Mittal said that they have already extended the health survey to several other areas too. “We will take a call on opening up those areas based on the findings of survey which will be reviewed after every four days,” she said.
