Mortal remains of Martyred BSF Jawan reaches home
RANCHI: Hundreds of villagers on Saturday paid tribute to martyred BSF jawan Sitaram Upadhayay when his mortal remains arrived at his native village Palganj in Giridih district. The villagers accompanied the body wrapped in tricolour and placed on the vehicle that was decorated with flowers for the last journey
A life size portrait of the jawan was placed in front of the vehicle. Earlier, tributes were also paid to the martyred jawan after his body arrived at the Birsa Munda International Airport in Ranchi on Saturday afternoon.

A group of people along with family members were present at the airport to receive the mortal remains. The people shouted slogan ‘Sitaram Amar Rahe’. Wife of deceased soldier, Reshma Upadhyay demanded a government job so that she could bring up her children. She said monetary aid would get exhausted very soon. Upadhyay has left behind two children including a three-year old boy and a one year old girl.
It may be stated that Jharkhand chief minister has announced a monetary aid of Rs 10 lakhs for the dependent of the jawan. Giridih deputy commissioner Manoj Kumar had earlier informed that district administration was all set to give state honours to the martyr.
