RANCHI: The Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL) will provide concession on electricity bills paid online.
A discount of up to Rs 250 or 1% of the total bill, whichever is less, will be given to users who pay their bills through JBVNL's website or Ezy-Bizly mobile app. The concession will be reflected in the next month's electricity bill.
JBVNL MD Rahul Purwar said, "We have a number of collection modes of online payment, including mobile wallets, bank transaction, mobile application, website and payment through point-of-sale (POS) machines."
He added, "We have installed 194 Any Time Payment (ATP) machines across the state where consumers can make payment through cash or card.
POS machines have been given to every Urja Mitra to promote online payment in rural areas."
Although JBVNL is trying to promote digital payments, there have been numerous complaint against the online payment system from consumers on the Facebook page of JBVNL.
Facebook user Bikram Kumar Mahata commented on the official page of JBVNL: "I tried making online payment through the app, the money got deducted from the account but payment was not made." Tabish Ahmed, another consumer, said that he was unable to make payment through a mobile wallet.
