PATNA: Preoccupation with campaigning in poll-bound Gujarat notwithstanding, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday took time off to take RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for lunch in a plush Khan Market restaurant in south Delhi.
A Tejashwi aide told TOI the two leaders discussed a number of issues, including the current political scenario, during the 90-minute luncheon.

“Thank you Rahul Ji for taking me out for wonderful lunch. Feel appreciated and grateful. Again thanks for taking time out of your tight schedule,” Tejashwi later tweeted and also posted few photographs.
Rahul’s gesture came a day after Tejashwi called PM Narendra Modi ‘Gappu’ in retaliation to the BJP calling Rahul ‘Pappu’, the term which has since been banned in Gujarat by the Election Commission.
Tejashwi is in Delhi for the last five days. He appeared before the Enforcement Directorate on Monday in connection with a corruption case in which his father Lalu Prasad is the main accused.
The case pertains to alleged transfer of land to his family by a hotelier in lieu of the award of a contract to maintain IRCTC’s Ranchi and Puri hotels by the railway ministry when Lalu helmed it in 2005-06.
Sources said Tejashwi and Rahul speak with each other over the phone frequently. The Congress vice-president had called Tejashwi on November 9 to wish him on his 28th birthday.
