RANCHI: A brief shower on Sunday brought down the mercury levels across Ranchi and gave the citizens a much-needed relief. The state capital recorded 3mm rain till 6pm as the shower, triggered by a local development, swept through, accompanied by lightning during the daytime.
Hail was reported from a few pockets in the city and outskirts along with wind-speeds of up to 30km an hour.
However, there were no damage to property reported.
The rain brought down Ranchi's afternoon temperature to 37.7° Celsius, a notch above normal. Jamshedpur and Daltonganj remained dry and recorded 37.6° Celsius and 42.4° Celsius respectively.
In its evening weather bulletin, the Ranchi office of India Meteorological Department predicted the possibility of partly cloudy skies with chances of light rain in isolated parts of the state.
