841 people still stranded in Mizoram

Mizoram still has 48 foreigners and 841 people belonging to different states who have been stranded since the lockdown began on March 22. Officials of the task group on migrant workers and stranded travellers told TOI that of the total 2,646 people who were stranded in the state, 1,853 people have left Mizoram and 841 still remain. Over 1,360 people from Jharkhand have left while 128 people from West Bengal have also reached their home state, the officials said.

AIZAWL: Mizoram still has 48 foreigners and 841 people belonging to different states who have been stranded since the lockdown began on March 22. Officials of the task group on migrant workers and stranded travellers told TOI that of the total 2,646 people who were stranded in the state, 1,853 people have left Mizoram and 841 still remain. Over 1,360 people from Jharkhand have left while 128 people from West Bengal have also reached their home state, the officials said.

Almost all the stranded migrant workers left the state by vehicles used by citizens of Mizoram who returned from other states, while a small number left by Air India flights from the Lengpui airport.
One person from South Korea has already left for his country.
