SHILLONG: There is a growing buzz that Agatha Sangma of the National People's Party (NPP), which is a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), will find a cabinet berth in the new Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
Agatha, the daughter of late PA Sangma, had trounced Congress Legislature Party (CLP) chief and former chief minister Mukul Sangma to win the Tura Lok Sabha election.

A day after the NPP won the Tura Lok Sabha election, chief minister Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that it was up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a call on cabinet berth to Agatha Sangma, who is his younger sister.
State NPP president WR Kharlukhi also said that providing cabinet berth to Agatha was the prerogative of the Prime Minister.
In fact, Agatha, a lawyer and environmentalist will enter the Lok Sabha for the third time.
She was the youngest minister of state in the UPA-2 Manmohan Singh government at the Centre.
