‘Keep Meghalaya out of Citizenship (Amendment) Act ambit’
Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday urged the Centre to keep Meghalaya out of the purview of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act to protect the interests of the indigenous people.

SHILLONG: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday urged the Centre to keep Meghalaya out of the purview of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act to protect the interests of the indigenous people. “Although Meghalaya has been exempted to a large extent, we demand full exemption for our state and Assam,” Sangma said.
