Mizoram to ease lockdown restrictions from July 1

The Mizoram government on Monday announced that a partial lockdown with more relaxed guidelines would be in place from July 1 as the Convid-19 pandemic has considerably eased in the state.

AIZAWL: The Mizoram government on Monday announced that a partial lockdown with more relaxed guidelines would be in place from July 1 as the Convid-19 pandemic has considerably eased in the state.
The decision was announced after chief minister Zoramthanga convened a consultation meeting in Aizawl.
which was attended by assembly speaker Lalrinliana Sailo, health minister Dr R.
Lalthangliana, home minister Lalchamliana, information minister Lalruatkima, chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, selected senior officials, representatives of the Mizoram Kohhran Hruaitute Committee (MKHC), a conglomerate of major 16 church leaders, NGO coordination Committee, Local Council and village council associations and Indian Medical Association (IMA).
It was decided that plans should be made to ease the working conditions of local volunteers manning the border areas and to continue the night curfew in the district headquarters, including Aizawl city. Zoramthanga said the state's economy should not be crippled further and safety of people should be the priority in view of increasing number of Covid-19 actives cases and deaths in the country.
Health minister Dr R Lalthangliana said of the 151 Covid-19 cases in the state, 61 have been cured and discharged from medical facilities.
