SHILLONG: Night
curfew has been extended in the
East Khasi Hills district in
Meghalaya till May 18, an official said on Sunday.
The night curfew will be in place from 7 pm to 6 am till May 18, deputy commissioner
Matsiewdor War Nongbri said.
In her order, Nongbri prohibited inter-district and inter-state movement, besides operation of major markets and shopping complexes in all commercial locations.
"Operations of all cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasium, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditorium, assembly halls and similar recreational places are also prohibited," she said.
Nongbri said hotel and
hospitality services other than those used as quarantine facilities and for housing stranded persons and tourists will not be allowed to operate.
However, private and commercial establishments shall open in Shillong urban agglomeration for five days from May 12 to May 16 from 9 am to 4 pm each day. Meanwhile, excise commissioner
Pravin Bakshi said selected wine stores and bonded warehouses will open from May 11 to May 16 from 9 am to 4 pm, subject to rules.
