SHILLONG: A pregnant woman, who is due to deliver in a week, tested positive for Covid-19 here on Wednesday, a day after her husband had tested positive for the virus, a health official said. The latest case took the total number of cases in the state to 44.
“One high-risk contact of a positive patient has tested positive for
COVID 19 in Shillong. Person is under medical supervision,” chief minister
Conrad K Sangma tweeted.
The woman has been admitted in the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) here, while her husband is under treatment at
the Shillong Civil Hospital.
“Both the husband and the wife are stable and under treatment,” health and family welfare minister
Alexander Laloo Hek said, adding that the couple arrived from New Delhi on May 30.
The state now has 30 active cases, one death and 13 recoveries.
