DHARAMSHALA: The
Himachal Pradesh BJP unit will get a new president by December 15 as incumbent party chief, Satpal Satti, has refused to contest the ongoing organisational elections in the state. Satti has held the party chief office for past nine years.
Speaking to TOI on Friday, Satti said he was serving his second term as party's state unit president and did not want to contest again for the post.
"In BJP, one person can serve two terms on this post. Party leaders would decide on who would hold the post of president," he said.
Satti first became
BJP unit chief in 2010 for a three-year term. His current term extended for a period of for more than two terms.
