Himachal Pradesh: Day before CM’s visit, govt announces camps for Pong dam oustees
DHARAMASALA: A day before chief minister Jairam Thakur's visit to Kangra district, the authorities have announced to hold special camps for pong dam oustees.
The construction of this dam was completed in 1966 and the land of about 330 villages was acquired. About 20,362 oustees had claimed compensation since then but only 16,300 claims were settled.
Deputy commissioner Vinay Modi said that the state government is serious to settle the claims of the oustees and these camps will be organised to collect the documents to settle rest of the claims.

Modi said that nine camps will be organized at various places in Kangra district from January 23 to February 28.
