Himachal Pradesh reports third coronavirus death

Himachal Pradesh on Friday reported third death due to coronavirus with a 52-years-old resident of Galor in Hamirpur district, who was tested positive on May 9, died after being shifted to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College at Ner Chowk in Mandi from the dedicated Covid Hospital Bhota in Hamirpur.

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh on Friday reported third death due to coronavirus with a 52-years-old resident of Galor in Hamirpur district, who was tested positive on May 9, died after being shifted to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College at Ner Chowk in Mandi from the dedicated Covid Hospital Bhota in Hamirpur.
Meanwhile, a new positive case of coronavirus was reported from Una district on Friday and in this case too person had returned from outside the state.
With fresh detection on Friday, now state has total 75 positive cases of Covid-19 of which 33 are active cases.
The 52-years-old was tested positive for coronavirus on May 9 following his return from Delhi on May 5. After being tested positive for coronavirus at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda, he was admitted at Bhota, but due to severe respiratory problems he was referred to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College Ner Chowk in Mandi on Friday where he died.
Earlier, a 21-year-old youth from Brarta village of Sarkaghat sub division of Mandi district had died of renal failure at at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Shimla on May 5, while a Tibetan resident (69) from Mcleodganj in Dharamshala following his return from US had died on March 22. Tibetan resident had also complained of respiratory problem and first he was taken to a private hospital but after his condition deteriorated he was referred to Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda where he died, when his samples were tested he was found Corona positive.
Meanwhile, a -33-years old youth from Haroli sub division of Una district who had returned recently from Maharashtra has been tested positive. He was in institutional quarantine at Palakvah quarantine centre. He was shifted to dedicated Covid Centre at Khad in Una following the confirmation of sample report.
It has come to light that from Maharashtra he had reached Mohali then he came to his village in Una along with his friend. Now his friend is also being quarantined institution quarantine at Palakvah. Una district so far has reported total 18 positive cases of which 2 are active cases.

Of the total 75 positive cases of coronavirus detected so far, 35 have recovered, four have migrated out of state, 3 have died while 33 are undergoing treatment. In the state total 28196 persons were put under surveillance till Friday, of them 8189 have completed 28 days of surveillance and 20007 are under active surveillance.
So far, total 15209 persons have been tested for coronavirus of which 14262 have been tested negative, 75 have been tested positive while results of 872 samples are awaited.
