Himachal Pradesh: Two killed, one injured as pick-up truck veers off road
SHIMLA: Two persons were killed while another injured when a pick-up truck they were travelling in veered off the road and fell into 300 feet deep gorge on Monday at around 2.30am at Dahar Nalah in Theog tehsil of Shimla district. The injured was taken to Theog hospital but seeing his critical condition, he was referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla for treatment.

Those killed in the accident have been identified as vehicle driver Sunil Chand (34) of Godhar and Hari Prasad (50) of Uttrakhand who died on the spot. Injured person has been identified as Som Prakash of Ropar in Punjab.
Police on seeing the vehicle in gorge had informed the Theog police. After receiving the information, a police team reached at the spot and brought the injured and bodies out of gorge. While the injured was shifted to hospital at Theog first from where he was referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Shimla, police handed over the bodies to their family members after conducting the postmortem.
A case under the provisions of rash driving, causing death by negligence and causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others have been registered at Police Station Theog on the statement of Madan Singh (40) resident of Rachot village of Theog tehsil.
In his statement, Madan Singh said that on Monday at about 2.30am, one pick-up (HP62-4414) on its way towards Godhar from Solan in Himachal Pradesh met with an accident at Dahar Nalah and rolled down 300 feet from the road due to rash and negligent driving of Sunil Chand.
