SHIMLA: In view of the spike in Covid-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh, the state government has decided to extend summer vacation in schools across the state to June 15.
Education minister Suresh Bhardwaj said due to the Covid-19 pandemic, schools were closed in the state in March this year and during the fourth lockdown, holidays were announced till May 31.
After considering the current situation, the state has decided to keep schools closed till June 15, he said. He said that public transport will resume from June 1 but buses will be plied with 60% occupancy and considering the rise in Corona virus positive cases so under such situation it will be better for students to remain home so holidays have been announced from June 1 to 15.
