SHIMLA: Issue of gun firing in
Parwanoo town of
Solan district and deteriorating law and order there was raised in the state assembly on Tuesday by Congress MLA
Ram Lal Thakur who asked from government when this hooliganism would be brought to an end. He said that gun shots are being fired and swords are being brandished and this needs to be stopped. In reply, chief minister
Jai Ram Thakur said that strict action would be taken against those involved in deteriorating the law and order in Parwanoo.
He said that action would be taken against goonda elements.
After
question hour, Ram Lal Thakur had raised the issue by stating that such incidents are being repeatedly reported from Parwanoo. Stating that he is not advocating anyone and his only intention is that peaceful atmosphere should prevail there.
On this, Jai Ram Thakur replied that tension is prevailing between Parwanoo Truck Union and Canter Union. He said in past attempts were made to broker peace between two unions by giving them ample time to resolve their differences but if someone tries to vitiate the atmosphere time and again then it would not be tolerated. He made it clear that in the incident whoever found involved would face strict action.
He also mentioned the name of Congress leader Hardeep Singh Bawa and said that majority of people involved in the matter are from other state and they would be dealt strictly. He said that on Monday, Pawan Kumar from Chhapra in
Bihar had lodged the complaint at Parwanoo police station about firing incident at Sector-I Parwanoo. He said that Pawan Kumar stated that he was working in the office of Hardeep Singh Bawa for last 8 years and on Monday when he had gone to place order for tea, he was attacked by Chain Singh of Purla, Sher Singh of Ambota along with three others and on his raising the alarm some people came to rescue during which one of the attacker fired gunshot at ground.
Jai Ram Thakur said after this incident, supporters of Hardeep Singh Bawa blocked the traffic at Kasauli Chowk, Parwanoo. He said that when SP and Assistant Commissioner (Protocol) spoke to Hardeep Singh Bawa latter assured to lift the blockade on taking action. He said that after a while 50-60 people from Sector-3 Parwanoo Canter Union carrying rods, sticks and stones came and smashed two trucks and pelted stones. He said that one person has been arrested and two persons have been questioned on this incident.
