One more tests positive for Covid-19 in Himachal, total count 47 now

SHIMLA: A fresh case of coronavirus positive was reported from Barsar area of Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday late night.
The 47-year-old person who was tested positive had returned home from Delhi along with his family on April 29 and after developing mild symptoms his sample was taken on May 6 and tested at the laboratory of IHBT Palampur in Kangra district. With this now number of active cases in the state has reached 7 while total positive cases detected so far have reached 47 while two deaths have been reported till date.
Since Monday six new positive cases of have been detected in the state of which three were having the travel history of Delhi.
The person from Hamirpur tested positive belongs to Bijhal village of Barsar sub division.
Though he had travelled back with his family and was in home quarantine earlier only his sample was taken for testing on developing mild symptoms but following the conformation of his being Corona positive now samples of his family members and other contacts too would be taken.
Till Sunday with just one positive case left it was expected that Himachal Pradesh would become Corona free but since Monday there is rise in positive cases with four positive cases detected on Wednesday only.
As over one lakh people from other states have returned many of them from hotspot areas, it is feared that number of Covid-19 positive cases would rise in Himachal Pradesh in coming days.
On Wednesday, a 38-years-old person from Jamanabad area of Kangra district who had come from Delhi was tested positive, while two persons from Salooni in Chamba district who had come from Baddi in Solan on April 30 have also been tested positive.

On Monday, one person from Joginder Nagar area of Mandi was tested positive while on Tuesday 21-years-old youth from Sarkaghat area of Mandi district was tested positive but he died of renal failure at Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla due later his 47-years-old mother was also tested positive.
In Himachal Pradesh so far 47 persons have been tested positive for Corona virus of which 34 cases have recovered, four cases have migrated out of state, two persons have died while seven cases are active. Till Thursday, total 17492 persons were put under surveillance, of them 6970 persons have completed 28 days of quarantine and 10522 persons are under active surveillance.
Total 9004 persons were tested for Covid-19 of which 8563 persons were tested negative, 47 samples have been tested positive while result is awaited of 394 samples. Of the total 7 active cases, two cases are from Chamba district while one case each is from Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, Shimla and Hamirpur districts.
