Poshan Abhiyan: HP wins 3 awards
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has won three awards under the ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’ scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2018. It is a multi-ministerial convergence mission with the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022.
The awards were given by women and child development minister Smriti Irani on Friday at a function in New Delhi to the states, districts, blocks and anganwadi workers for their contribution in scaling up the Poshan Abhiyaan and ensuring that it reaches every household in the country.

Social justice & empowerment minister Rajiv Saizal received the awards from Union minister along-with director, women and child development Kritka Kulhari and other senior officers.
Himachal Pradesh was selected for three awards, including convergence and community mobilization, ICDS-CAS and overall excellence in Poshan Abhiyan. The state has received a total of Rs 2.25 crore as award money.
The convergence awards for best performance of anganwari kendras were given to Mandi and Kalpa in Kinnaur district, whereas Shimla Urban Block has been conferred block level leadership and convergence award in the state. Solan district won the best district award in the state for Poshan Abhiyaan which was received by deputy commissioner K C Chaman.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has congratulated the department of women and child development for winning three national awards for the state. He said the state government was implementing Poshan Abhiyaan with utmost dedication to achieve the goal of a healthy society and a strong nation.
