Two workers electrocuted in Silvassa

SURAT: Two workers, who entered water to carry out cleaning of a pipeline in Pipariya creek in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Silvassa, died of electrocution on Thursday. Vynaktesh Filament, which is located in Pipariya Industrial Estate of Silvassa, has laid a pipeline to draw water from Pipariya Creek. Some solid waste had got deposited in the pipeline.Rajkumar Yadav and Subdip Behra were asked by the management to ensure that the pipeline was clean from inside. However, even before they could start cleaning the pipeline, electricity passed through it electrocuting Yadav and Behra. Fire Brigade officials reached the spot and were trying to recover the bodies. Police have registered a case of accidental death and begun investigation.
