As many as 24 SPs have been transferred as part of a massive shuffle undertaken by the government on Thursday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 24 SPs have been transferred as part of a massive shuffle undertaken by the government on Thursday. The government appointed Merin Joseph (presently SP-railways) as the new district police chief of Kollam in place of PK Madhu who has been posted as the district police chief of Thrissur city. Yathish Chandra, who was the district police chief of Thrissur city, has been appointed as SP headquarters with an additional charge: supervision of cyber police stations.
KG Simon, who was holding the post of Kollam SP (rural), will be the new Kozhikode SP (rural), while Ernakulam SP (rural) Rahul R Nair has been appointed as assistant inspector general at police headquarters.

While AIG T Narayanan has been appointed as Malappuram police chief, in place of Pratheesh Kumar. He has now been posted as Kannur (SP). Present SP G Siva Vikram has been posted as Palakkad (SP). Wayanad SP R Karuppasamy has been posted as AAIG at police headquarters, while G Manjunath who currently is SP Telecommunications, will be the new Wayanad SP.
K Karthick presently SP (VACB) will be the new Ernakulam SP (rural), while J Himendranath will be the new vigilance SP. Hari Shankar, currently serving as Kottayam SP, will be the new Kollam SP (rural), while current Palakkad SP Sabu P S will be the new Kottayam SP.
G Poonguzhali, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as DCP (Kochi city) while Uma – who joins service after a leave – has been posted as assistant director of Kerala Police Academy. Commandant of KAP-2 Debesh Kumar Behera will be the new commandant of India Reserve Battalion who will also hold additional charge of assistant director (outdoor) of Kerala Police Academy.
