Thiruvananthapuram: A 31-year-old woman was found hanging in her house at Moolabhagham within the Ayiroor police station limits on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Revathy Stanley alias Nandini, resident of Kallayi House, Villikkadavu, Moolabhagam near Ayiroor.
Ayiroor police have registered a case of unnatural death under sections 174 of CrPC. According to police, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the balcony of her husband’s ancestral house which was given for rent.

“The body was first seen by the neighbours. Both the victim and her husband were living in a house nearby. On Saturday night, the couple allegedly had a dispute. It is suspected that she might have been depressed after the fight and took the extreme step,” said a police officer.
She was employed as an ayah with a private school. She leaves behind husband Stanely (private bus driver) and two daughters. The body was handed over to family on Sunday evening after postmortem at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College morgue.
In another incident, a 20 -year-old autorickshaw driver was found hanging at his residence at Aruvikkara. The deceased has been identified as Ashik, son of Shajahan and Jeena of Ashik manzil, Azhikkode near Aruvikkara.
According to Aruvikkara police, who have registered a case of unnatural death, no suicide note was found. The body was handed over to family on Sunday morning after autopsy.
In another incident, 54-year-old woman was found hanging at Ambedkar Colony on Sunday.
The woman, identified as Indira, was undergoing treatment for breathing issues. Maranalloor Police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched a probe.
