Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari said that the issues regarding national highway widening in the state will be resolved. He was speaking after visiting the legislative assembly here on Tuesday.

The Union minister, who is enjoying a vacation in Kovalam, visited the assembly with his wife Kanchan Gadkari. He held meetings with speaker P Sreeramakrishnan and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari said that the issues regarding national highway widening in the state will be resolved. He was speaking after visiting the legislative assembly here on Tuesday.
The Union minister, who is enjoying a vacation in Kovalam, visited the assembly with his wife Kanchan Gadkari. He held meetings with speaker P Sreeramakrishnan and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
“Cost of land acquisition is very high here.
Understanding the situation in the state, we have told the state that whatever cost they decide, we will approve it. There is no need for concern over national highway widening projects in the state. The projects from the state will be included in Sagarmala scheme too,” Gadkari told reporters.
PWD minister G Sudhakaran, MLA O Rajagopal, chief secretary Tom Jose, principal secretary (coordination) V S Senthil, PWD secretary Anand Singh, among others, attended the meeting.
Gadkari said that starting of an exclusive ministry of fisheries would be of great help to the state. He conducted talks on various topics such as fisheries, organic farming, transportation, ports, etc.
Following the meeting, the Union minister and his wife observed the assembly proceedings for sometime. Before returning, he had lunch with the chief minister and family at Cliff House at 1pm.
