THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An opinion poll conducted by Asianet News and AZ research partners has predicted that the
UDF would win 14 to 16 seats and
LDF three to five in the upcoming
Lok Sabha elections.
The survey predicts zero to one seat for the NDA. The one seat where NDA is likely to win is in south Kerala.
The channel projects a vote share of 44% for the UDF, 30% for the LDF and 18% for NDA.
The survey finds that the
Sabarimala issue would be a decisive factor in the election. While 54% felt
Pinarayi Vijayan’s handling of Sabarimala issue was flawed, 25% approved it and 21% chose not to give an answer to the question. While 36% felt that the UDF would take advantage of the Sabarimala issue, 26% felt LDF would have the advantage. The survey found that 75% of the Ezhava electorate and 63% of Nair voters felt that Sabarimala was a crucial poll issue. However, only 44% of scheduled caste people agreed to this.
