Thiruvananthapuram collector K Vasuki goes on long leave, says capital is close to her heart
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District collector K Vasuki has taken a break from her administrative stint and has gone on long leave of six months. In a brief message posted on the official Facebook page of district collector, she said that she had taken leave for personal reasons. "Trivandrum will be close to my heart always. I am hoping to get myself recharged and come back and continue serving you in a different capacity," she said in her message.
PT Abraham, additional district magistrate has been in charge of district collector since May 30, when K Vasuki went on leave.
The recently held Lok Sabha elections was her final official assignment and she had applied for leave in the last week of May. She thanked the government for letting her take a break.
K Vasuki had taken charge as the 42nd district collector of Thiruvananthapuram in August 2017. During her two-year tenure, she was noted for her green initiatives and earned plaudits for co-ordinating relief activities in the capital and ensuring supplies to flood affected districts. Model waste management project at Varkala and C for climate change, a volunteer driven environmental sustainability initiative remained her pet projects.
