Bihar man running security agency without licence held

Bihar man running security agency without licence held
Accused had prepared bogus PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving licence and letter-pads to float the agency
VADODARA: The special operations group (SOG) arrested a man for running a security agency without proper license.
SOG sleuths said they had received information while conducting regular patrolling in the city following which they raided the agency. According to police, the accused identified as Lalit Prasad Mahanto is originally a resident of Nalanda district in Bihar.
Police said that Mahanto had prepared bogus documents to float the agency.
“We keep monitoring new developments in the city. Recently we learnt that the accused had floated a new agency following which gathered more information and found that he didn’t have the license to run the agency,” said H M Chauhan, SOG police inspector.
SOG sources said that 40-year-old Mahanto, who was nabbed from Kalali area, floated Make Way Security Agency by preparing bogus PAN card, Aadhar card, driving license and letter-pads. The PAN card and driving license had his photo, but the name was Patel. Mahanto has been staying in the city for the last 19 years. “He used to work for some security agency but about four months ago he decided to float his own agency. He didn’t have license so he forged the documents,” Chauhan told TOI.
He had employed seven persons who used to provide security to residential colonies. Mahanto, though, didn’t keep any firearm. The police said that a person in Padra had helped the accused in preparing the bogus documents. “We are trying to track the person who gave the accused all the bogus documents,” Chauhan said. An offence has been registered against him in Manjalpur police station.
