BSF inspector from Vadodara dies in Assam

BSF inspector from Vadodara dies in Assam
VADODARA: A 35-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) inspector from the city died on Sunday after he slipped and fell into a drain while reportedly chasing cattle smugglers on Assam’s border. He was taken to a hospital but couldn’t survive, said family members of deceased Sanjay Sadhu.
Sadhu, who had joined BSF 10 years ago, was given several postings before being transferred to Assam where he has been posted for the last few years.
He was a member of the patrolling team on the border. On Monday morning, the family got a call from the BSF stating his demise.
“We got the information that Sanjay is no more. We have no idea how he died as they haven’t officially notified us anything. We have been told that his body will be flown in to the city on Wednesday,” said Sanjay’s elder brother, Jagdish Sadhu, a resident of Bhagwat Society in Gorwa. Their father was an assistant sub-inspector with Gujarat police.
Sanjay completed his Bachelors in Commerce before joining the BSF. “He always wanted to join BSF and serve the country,” Jagdish told TOI. Sadhu is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
