Kidnapped man rescued in 24 hours

VADODARA: The detection of crime branch (DCB) cracked a case of kidnapping within 24 hours and arrested a man from Silvassa on Thursday.
The accused identified as Ankit Singh had allegedly kidnapped Santok Singh from his residence in Chhani area late on Wednesday night. The police said that financial dispute may be the reason behind the kidnapping.
Santok was kidnapped from his home by Ankit and a man identified as Jaggi in a black SUV.The accused duo is friends with Santok and hence went to meet him at his home. “They called him out and then kidnapped him.
They took Santok to Surat and then Silvassa in the car,” said Jaydeepsinh Jadeja, DCP (crime). The Chhani police received a complaint of kidnapping from Santok’s sister, Jasvinder Kaur following which the crime branch too begun investigations.
“We tracked the accused from their mobile phones. As soon as we learnt about their location, our team left for Silvassa. We arrested Ankit but Jaggi is yet to be nabbed,” Jadeja told TOI.
Jadeja said that financial dispute may have led to the crime.
