At least 13 people were killed after a two-storey building collapsed following a blast in a gas cylinder in Mohammadabad area in Mau district on Monday.

MAU: At least 13 people were killed after a two-storey building collapsed following a blast in a gas cylinder in Walidpur area in Mau district on Monday.
"Bodies of the 12 dead have reached the mortuary and six injured have been admitted to a hospital. The debris is being removed by an NDRF team," said Mau district magistrate Gyan Prakash Tripathi.

Later in the day, the toll rose to 13 while six others were injured.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident in which 10 people have died. He has expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and directed that DM and SP and all officers to immediately provide all possible relief and medical help to the injured persons.
