VIJAYAWADA: In a horrific incident, four persons on a
business-related trip died after their car rammed against a tree near
Vittamrajupalle village under
Vinukonda mandal in Guntur district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as
Venkateswara Rao,
Praveen Raju, Kumaraswamy and Rama Krishna. According to Vinukonda Urban circle inspector Subba Rao, the incident happened at around 3.30 am in the wee hours when they were travelling to Markapur town from Vizag.
Upon information, cops rushed to the spot and examined the scene.
They said that three of them died on the spot while one of them died while receiving treatment at a local government hospital. Cops suspect that the driver must have been drowsy as they found out that there was no other vehicle on the road when the incident happened.
Subba Rao explained that Venkateswara Rao and Kumaraswamy - both geologists by profession run a private firm where they are available for hiring to study, survey and research the land by private investors or mining industrialists. All four bodies were shifted to Guntur Government General Hospital for post-mortem.
A case under section 304A of IPC (causing death due to negligence) was registered at Vinukonda Urban police station. Further investigation is still on.
