VIJAYAWADA: Fear gripped passengers of Vishaka Express on Monday after the train engine accidentally got detached from the bogeys near Tuni in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
According to Vijayawada railway division sources, the incident happened in the evening when the Secunderabad-bound train was heading towards Vijayawada when suddenly, the coupling loosened from the holder resulting in the detachment.

Soon, the loco pilot stopped the engine around five kilometres away just to ensure that the moving bogeys do not ram it from behind.
Luckily, passengers who understood the situation from seeing through the window pulled down the chain and stopped the bogeys.
Upon information, officials rushed to the spot and recoupled the engine with the bogey and allowed the train to continue the journey.
Officials are uncertain as to what caused the link to loosen up and said that either it has to be tampered or might have caused when the engine left from its previous station.
