Air India flight develops glitch, leaves a day after
Visakhapatnam: An Air India flight plying from New Delhi to Port Blair via Visakhapatnam could not take off from Visakhapatnam International Airport on Monday as it developed a technical glitch.
According to reports, all passengers aboard the flight were shifted to a hotel on Monday as the technical problem remained unsolved.
According to Dhanunjaya Rao, airport director in-charge, “Due to a technical snag, the Port Blair flight from Delhi, which had a layover in Visakhapatnam, could not take off on Monday.
However, the flight took off at 09:46 am on Tuesday.”
Officials from the Air India office said that the Air India flight usually lands at 07:40 am and takes off at 08:15 am from Visakhapatnam Airport. However, owing to the technical snag, which could not be fixed immediately, the flight was rescheduled for Tuesday.
All passengers were given accommodation in city hotels and other facilities were also provided. The passengers landed safely in Port Blair on Tuesday morning, they added.
