Maharashtra floods: Aamir Khan appreciated by CM Devendra Fadnavis for donating ₹25 lakhs

Actor Aamir Khan donated ₹25 lakhs to aid rehabilitation work in flood-hit Maharashtra, and appreciating his contribution was state’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also acknowledged the donation received by veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar.
“Thank you @aamir_khan for your contribution of ₹25,00,000/- (₹25 lakh) towards #CMReliefFund #MaharashtraFloods !” read the tweet. In another tweet, the CM mentioned, “We are also thankful to Respected Lata Didi for the contribution of ₹11,00,000/- (₹11 lakh) towards #CMReliefFund #MaharashtraFloods.” Time and again, the relief measures and various portals to donate have been popularised by Bollywood stars.And these contributions go a long way in encouraging other people to follow the footsteps of their favourite stars, and donate for a cause.

Earlier, actor Akshay Kumar had reportedly contributed Rs 2 crore towards Assam flood relief. “Kahaan leke jaane hai paise,” he said during an interview with a news publication, and stated that he doesn’t think twice before donating for a cause. The actor contributed one crore each towards the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and for the rescue work in Kaziranga National Park. And known for his continual generous contribution supporting various initiatives, actor Amitabh Bachchan had also contributed Rs 51 lakhs for Assam flood victims.
