Manipur CM, Congress members rush to Delhi
A day after a 13-member delegation of 11 political parties rushed to New Delhi to press the central leaders not to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, in the Rajya Sabha, Manipur CM N Biren Singh, members of opposition Congress and Manipur People’s Party airdashed to the capital on Wednesday to oppose the proposed legislation.
The political delegation, which includes Manipur BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Ksh Bhabhanandav, will insist that the Centre insert a clause in the bill that would exempt Manipur from its purview.
