PATNA: Trinamool Congress poll strategist in West Bengal and JD(U) national vice president Prashant Kishor will now campaign against the BJP candidates in Jharkhand assembly polls.
Bihar's ruling party, JD(U) on Wednesday released a list of its 20 star campaigners for Jharkhand polls. Kishor’s name figures in the list at second position just after the party chief and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

JD(U), which runs a coalition government in Bihar with BJP, is not in alliance with the saffron party in the neighboring state of Jharkhand. Nitish Kumar’s party is contesting assembly election in the tribal-dominated state on its own, and has already announced to put up its candidates against the BJP-led alliance in all 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand.
Names of JD(U) known stalwarts like the party’s leader in the Rajya Sabha RCP Singh and its leader in Lok Sabha Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, appear below the name of Kishor in the list of star campaigners. The list was submitted to the election commission by the JD(U) national general secretary Afaque Ahmad Khan.
Other prominent JD(U) leaders from Bihar who will campaign in Jharkhand are state ministers Shyam Rajak, Ram Sewak Singh, Shravan Kumar, Ashok Choudhary, Narendra Narayan Yadav, Sanjay Kumar Jha and Santosh Kumar Nirala.
JD(U) leaders from Jharkhand who found place in the list of star campaigners are its state president and former MP Salkhan Murmu, former minister Lalchand Mahto, former MLC Praveen Kumar Singh and former MLA Khiru Mahto.
Other Bihar leaders who will campaign in Jharkhand polls are Jehanabad MP Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi, Gaya MP Vijay Kumar Manjhi, Rajya Sabha member Kahkashan Parveen, former Union minister and Darbhanga MP Ali Ashraf Fatmi and MLC Maulana Gulam Rasool Baliyawi.
