LUCKNOW: As many as 181 passengers, including 10 crew members, on board a Mumbai bound IndiGo
flight from Lucknow had a
narrow escape on Friday morning when the aircraft’s engine developed a snag before the take-off.
According to reports, the flight (6E 685), with a scheduled departure at 7.45am, taxied on the runway at a high speed when the pilot detected the snag. The pilot immediately alerted the air traffic controller and aborted the take-off.
According to some passengers, there was a shudder in the aircraft just before the take-off.
As passengers panicked, the crew announced there was a “technical snag” in the aircraft. The airlines later said passengers would be accommodated in another flight.
Airport Authority of India OSD Sanjay Narayan said everything was under the control of pilot. “AAI made all arrangements for the passengers at the airport and ensured their accommodation in another flight,” he said.
