Student from Hyderabad shot at in Chicago

A student from Hyderabad, Mohammed Akbar, suffered bullet injuries when he was shot at in Chicago, US. The incident reportedly took place on December 6 when Akbar was walking towards his car parking.

HYDERABAD: A student from Hyderabad was shot at by an unidentified person in Chicago in the United States, his family members said on Sunday.
The incident reportedly took place on December 6 when Mohammed Akbar was walking towards his car in a parking area.
Akbar's family in Hyderabad informed Telangana home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy about the incident and sought his help in getting proper medical care in the US.
They also asked the minister to take up the case with the US authorities.
Mohammed Akbar is in the US on an F1 student visa and is pursuing masters in computer science at the Devry University.
"We are in a state of shock. My father has gone into depression after the incident," Akbar's brother told TOI.
"He spoke to me two days before the incident and enquired about our well-being. We are at a loss to understand who would have targeted my brother and why. We are also unsure about how many bullet injuries he suffered," Ashraf said.
