NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals will don the pink jersey in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the franchise announced on Sunday. The winners of the inaugural edition of the cricketing extravaganza also announced the return of Australian legend Shane Warne, this time as the Royal Brand Ambassador of the franchise.
Unveiling the new look, the franchise said that the new identity has been adopted after receiving a huge positive response from the fans in the last edition and the deep-rooted link between the colour and the state of Rajasthan.

The Royals also posted a series of tweets introducing ‘Pink Diamonds of Cricket’ to the fans.

“We are extremely happy to announce our official colour as ‘PINK’. This is an exciting change for us and marks a strategic move in the direction of what we are trying to build our brand into – a fan-driven team that finds ways to win from anywhere,” Manoj Badale, lead owner, Rajasthan Royals, was quoted as saying by the franchise's official website.
Spin legend Warne, who worked with the team as a mentor in the last edition, also expressed happiness in joining the team as the Royal Brand Ambassador.

“I’m very happy to be back with the Royals and I’m grateful to the team and the fans for their constant support. It was important for us to retain our established values but at the same time develop a new and modern identity. I am already in love with the new look of the team and hope the fans will love it too,” said Warne.
The 12th edition of the IPL is expected to begin from March 23.
